PAYING FOR CHILDCARE
You may find that you are eligible for some financial assistance through the following:
Tax credit and Working Tax Credit
The amount that you will receive will obviously depend upon your circumstances. For more information and how to claim tax credits you can visit taxcredits.inlandrevenue.gov.uk
Childcare Vouchers
The Old School House Nursery accepts childcare vouchers towards payment of your nursery fees. To claim childcare vouchers, please contact your employer to see if they operate a childcare voucher scheme. If so, then upto £55 a week (upto £243.00 per month) can be deducted from your gross salary ie £55 is exempt from National Insurance and Income Tax.
If you are self employed you need to speak to your accountant as to how your business can operate a childcare voucher scheme so you too can benefit.
NB – If 2 parents of a child are working then they will be both entitled to the £55 provision.
The Childcare Voucher Scheme is in addition to the tax credits claimed.
For more information about using childcare vouchers at the Old School House – then please call us on telephone number 0114 2666930 or e-mail us at info@schoolhouse.plus.com
Free Early Learning for 3 and 4 year olds
This is a scheme introduced by the Government to provide free early learning places for all 3 and 4 year olds in England. The current rules state that all 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early learning sessions each week over a maximum of 570 hours per academic year (38 weeks).
All 3 and 4 year old children become eligible to take up their free early learning sessions the term after their 3rd birthday.
At the Old School House you can use 3 hours of Free Early Learning per half day session and upto 6 hours in any one day. The nursery will liaise with parents to see how many free early learning hours they would like us to claim for as these can be split with another provider.
Stand alone Free Early Learning places can be sought in the afternoon from 1pm to 4pm with a separate charge for snack.
